Privacy Policy

We built YouRe for children and families. Protecting your privacy — especially your child's — is our highest priority. We collect only what is necessary to make the App work, and we never sell your data.

1. Who We Are

YouRe ("we", "our", or "us") operates the YouRe mobile application. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at privacy@youre.app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information: Email address and display name when you create an account.
Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for diagnostics.
Usage data: Features used, session duration, and in-app events to improve the experience.
Scanned content: Images of book pages you scan are processed to extract text. Images are not stored on our servers after processing.
Audio playback data: Which stories are played and for how long, used only to power your personal library.

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

YouRe is designed for use by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All accounts are created by parents or guardians.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, please contact us immediately at privacy@youre.app and we will delete it promptly.

4. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the App's core features
To process book scans and generate audio output
To personalize your story library
To send important service updates (not marketing, unless you opt in)
To diagnose technical issues and fix bugs
To comply with legal obligations

5. AI and Third-Party Processing

YouRe uses AI services including Google Gemini for story generation and cloud-based text-to-speech (TTS) for audio output. Text extracted from scanned pages may be sent to these services for processing. We have data processing agreements in place with all third-party providers.

We do not use your content to train AI models without your explicit consent.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

Service providers: Cloud infrastructure, analytics, and AI processing partners who are contractually bound to protect your data.
Legal authorities: When required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting privacy@youre.app. Scanned images are deleted immediately after processing. Audio files stored in your library are deleted upon account deletion.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to or restrict certain processing
Data portability

10. Cookies and Tracking

The App uses minimal analytics tracking to understand usage patterns. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. You may opt out of analytics in the App's settings at any time.

11. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We ensure that any international transfers comply with applicable data protection laws through appropriate safeguards.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
